The Therapy in motion inflatable seat, wedge cushion is perfect for individuals who are subject to sitting for long periods of time e.g. those at the office or delivery drivers. The purpose of the wedge cushion is to encourage activation of muscles in the spinal column for stabilisation and prevent slouching which can damage components of the lower back. The wedge has a dimpled design which provides both grip and comfort if used for a long duration. The inflatable wedge cushion can help both prevent and treat; lower back injuries, sciatica and prolapsed disks. This makes this product ideal for those who are striving to achieve optimal spinal health, good posture and general well being with particular emphasis on those who are subject to sitting for long periods.

Sensory wedge cushions are also widely used in schools by children with ADHD or autism.  They can be useful for children who are constantly moving about, rocking and fidgeting. The dimples on the upper surface give sensory feedback to the children as a form of movement which may help them stay alert without the disruption and distraction of actual movement.

How to inflate and deflate your cushion:

Inflation Steps

  • Prepare the equipment: Securely attach the needle to the manual hand pump.

  • Lubricate the needle: It is recommended to moisten or lubricate the ball needle before insertion to reduce friction and prevent damage to the inflation valve.

  • Insert at an angle: Locate the inflation valve on the surface of the cushion. Slowly insert the needle at a slight angle. Do not insert it vertically or forcefully, as this may puncture the opposite side and cause damage.

  • Start inflating: Inflate the cushion to the desired firmness. Slightly tilting the cushion or holding it against your body during inflation makes it easier than laying it flat on the floor.

  • Remove the needle: Once inflation is complete, hold the area around the valve with one hand while slowly removing the needle with the other hand.

Recommended Inflation Level

First-time use: Inflate to approximately 70–80% full. Adjusting difficulty: More air creates a rounder, less stable surface, increasing exercise difficulty. Less air provides greater stability and comfort. Avoid over-inflation: If the cushion is inflated too firmly (hard like a ball), it may cause discomfort to the feet or hips and reduce the intended training effectiveness.

How To deflate

Insert the ball needle without attaching it to the pump into the inflation valve. Gently press on the cushion to release the air.
